Dear Parents,
WELCOME TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR! I hope you are having a great summer.
REMINDERS:
TUITION: Registration & Educational Materials fee ($400), Computer Fee ($150), HSO ($25) for a total of $575.00 were all due in March 2009. These fees plus tuition payments, which began in June 2009, must be paid up to date upon entrance on the first day of school.
OPENING DAY OF SCHOOL SCHEDULE:
Thursday, Sept. 10 & Friday, Sept. 11 Grades 1 – 8
Hours for both days: 8:00 to 11:00 am
Regular school hours starting on Monday, Sept. 14 will be 8:00 – 2:10.
UNIFORMS:
GIRLS – Plaid uniform with choice of navy blue tights or navy blue knee socks or navy blue slacks with white or navy short or long sleeved polo shirt with SJS monogram and/or navy blue uniform v-neck pullover, cardigan sweater, or vest with SJS monogram and appropriate shoes.
No dangling style earrings will be allowed for safety reasons. Only stud or very SMALL earrings may be worn. (see the SJS student handbook for regulations).
BOYS: - Navy DRESS pants (belted) with white or navy polo short or long sleeved shirt with SJS monogram and/or navy blue uniform v-neck pullover, cardigan sweater or vest with SJS monogram and appropriate shoes.
Only uniform sweaters will be allowed for both girls and boys.
No type of earring will be allowed on any boy in any grade! No radical or extreme hair styles or colors will be allowed on any student.
Hair should be clean, combed, and trimmed in a reasonable neat style.
Sneakers are allowed only on gym day or “tag day”. Platform shoes and sneakers are not allowed.
GYM UNIFORMS: Only school gym uniforms may be worn on gym day. Gym uniforms can be purchased at the school office the first day of school. The gym program begins on Monday, September 14th.
LUNCH: Students may bring their lunch to school. Milk may be
ordered the first day of school. Price of milk for the year to be determined later.
IMPORTANT DATE: Please reserve Friday, September 18th at 5:30pm on your calendar for our first Parent/Teacher meeting. From 5:30pm to 6:15pm, you will meet with your student’s teacher, where they will present their curriculum for the year. From 6:15 pm to 7:00pm, Sr. Eileen will meet with you in the school cafeteria. Refreshments will be served.
It is necessary that all parents attend this meeting so that we, parent and teacher, can begin school in a spirit of understanding and cooperation! This meeting allows parents to get to know all the teachers at St. John’s. It also gives parents the opportunity for meet with their child/children’s teacher in the classroom where the teacher will explain the curriculum and program. The teachers and I look forward to seeing you and your child/children in September.
