Grade 3 Summer Reading

During the summer, in preparation for Grade 3, you must read and report on the following books:

A biography (reading-level appropriate) of a famous American such as George Washington Carver, by Sam and Beryl Epstein

Choose another book from the following list:

A book by Beverly Cleary
A book by Matt Christopher (sports)
A Magic Tree House book by Mary Pope Osborne
A Julian book by Ann Cameron
A Children’s book by Judy Blume

I hope you will choose books that you enjoy.  I’ve given you a wide range to choose from.  Parents are welcome to read with you and help with any problems, but YOU must do the actual writing on the report papers.  You may want to read more than two – that’s fine.  Reports are due the first day of school.
