February 2012 – Grade 4 News
Dear Families,
January has flown by, and I can’t believe that it is February already! In reading, we continue to practice our strategies, like questioning, predicting, and inferring. We are also studying nonfiction texts. In religion we have completed unit 2 and studied the first three commandments that show us how to show love for God. In English, we are studying verbs.
Wordly Wise vocabulary is due each Thursday. Students should bring this book home each night to complete the exercises, index cards, and to study for the test. Students should also read the lesson E story in the text to help prepare for the test. Vocabulary tests are each Monday. Spelling tests are taken on Friday each week.
Please sign and return the calendar and other papers in the purple folder each Friday. Purple folders are sent home on Thursday each week. Also, please initial the reading log each night.
You should have received your packet with Catholic Schools Week activities. We will have pizza lunch on Wednesday, February 1. Please look at your February calendar to note any special days.
