UPDATES AND REMINDERS

St. John School Lottery Tickets:

As we begin our final countdown on the sale of the lottery tickets, I urge you to make returns as soon as possible.  It is extremely important that everyone take this obligation seriously and consider this fundraiser as a means of

continuing St. John School, the last parochial school in the North End.  My sincere thanks to so many parents who have sold their 12 tickets and to those who are continuing their great sales at work and other areas of business.  Please contact the school if you would like more tickets!

ALL RETURNS FOR LOTTERY TICKETS ARE DUE IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1ST, 2009.  EACH FAMILY IN GRADES K1 THROUGH 8 IS REQUIRED TO SELL (12) LOTTERY TICKETS AT $20.00 EACH ($240.00).  THIS COMMITMENT WAS AGREED UPON AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION.

PROSPECTIVE CHAPERONES:

Parents are reminded that they must fill out a “CORI” form before they may be permitted to accompany students on a class field trip.

CORI REQUIREMENTS:  This year, new requirements have been Established by the Criminal Board of Investigation and the Archdiocese of Boston.  Even if you have previously filled a form you must do it again.  Every new school year demands a new form.  These guidelines will be strictly enforced by our school personnel.

CORI REPORT PROCEDURE:  All adults planning to be with our students for any reason must complete and sign a CORI form in the presence of an authorized member of our school.  We no longer can send forms home to be completed.  When you register, you must present a picture ID as well as a copy to be attached to the CORI form.  In order to expedite this process you may sign up on Friday, September 18th at the General Parent/Teacher Meeting.  Without this form on file you will not be able to volunteer in school or chaperone any field trips etc.
